1. Client Overview – AWHM
Bteesa airport wildlife hazard management initiative is aimed at protecting wildlife, especially those living in and around airports, including animals and insects. Given the current concerns in ecological issues, this initiative seeks to ensure that these creatures have adequate protection from possible harm occasioned by airport operations. The project not only seeks to avoid such incidents but also first aid is offered to any animal which has been affected by the incidents in the course of the operation.
2. Technology Stack
In this project, we worked with Symfony 6 with Webpack and Encore. This modern technology pile helps ensure the simplicity and strength of development with preparedness for the further evolution: implementing next-generation features.
3. Challenge
One of the main difficulties encountered throughout the course of this work at Bteesa was the migration from Symfony 3.4 to Symfony 6.4. This Migration entailed dealing with many modifications on the framework; among them are routing, dependency injection, and security. This migration process was central for building on the most recent enhancements in overall performance and safety, whilst honoring present features.
4. Outcome
After the successful migration to Symfony 6, the application became more powerful and efficient at Bteesa. The Environmental Management Project is implemented and running efficiently and keeping track of wildlife around airports. In addition, the project has introduced an effective mechanism for the urgent transfer of injured animals to a veterinary facility, which has made their treatment more effective.
In this case, through this effort, we are creating a safer habitat for many animals and also educating the public on the need to conserve all delegations of the environment even in the increasingly expanding. The project demonstrates how capability can be turned into a tool for benefit of the environment and people living in it.
